I like figuring out what something could be, then working through the words, design, and details that make it work.

9+ years UX writing → content design → prompt architecture. Calm confidence over performance.
Restrained version with 2 left-field replacements for SIGNAL/LENS — built for Staff UX Writer / Content Designer, XR assessment.

Who said you had to?

RIOT invites you to question a rule you live by. How do you challenge a belief without dismissing the person?

04 / GLASS — What replaces the phone is a placeReplaces SIGNAL — Left-field

What replaces the phone isn't a phone. It's a place.

Mobile collapsed everything into a rectangle. XR collapses the rectangle back into the world.

Content Design System
  • Proximity over hierarchy: Closer = fewer words. 12 at arm's length, 3 at fingertip.
  • Anchor, not label: "Pin this here?" not "Save"
  • Wayfinding voice: "behind you", "on the table", "in your palm"
Phone era
You go to phone → Open app → Search → Act
Glass era
World comes to you
Intent → Place → Confirm

📍 "Pin cancel confirmation here?"
Same task — Cancel subscription
GLASS: Bill on table glows — "Cancel here?" — 2 words, anchored
AUDIO: "You were charged again because auto-renew was on. Cancel it?" — 12 words max
TRACE: "Cancelled 10/22 — Source: billing_api L4"
05 / GHOST — What replaces apps is ritualsReplaces LENS — Left-field

What replaces apps isn't apps. It's rituals.

Humans live in rituals — morning coffee, winding down — not tasks. Ambient agents should act during rituals, not force you to open apps.

Ghost Protocol
  • Permission as narrative: "Want me to watch for double-charges while you sleep?"
  • Interruption budget: 3/day — every word costs budget
  • Provenance whisper: "Why?" reveals source line
Ritual vs Task
Task (Phone)
User opens banking app
App: "You have 3 charges"
45 words, 4 taps
Initiative: User
Ritual (Ghost)
Ghost (9pm, wind-down):
"Caught a double-charge while you were cooking. Refund it?"
11 words, 1 tap
Initiative: Agent
BUDGET 1/3
Ghost says (unprompted)
"I cancelled that subscription you weren't using — saved $12. Want the receipt?"
